Helping people to discover and follow Jesus
Our 3:45 service, G2 Burnholme, meets at The Centre @ Burnholme, and everyone is welcome, no matter what your belief or background. It is a great chance to meet new people and make friendships while discovering more about being a disciple of Jesus.
WHO head up g2 burnholme?
Susie and Dan Finn, Luke and Hannah Smith are the G2 Burnholme service leaders, working with a wider team, and with Christian Selvaratnam, who is the ordained leader of G2. The Finns and Smiths have been meeting together for the last four years, praying for the local community and they are excited about building church and reaching more people who don't yet know Jesus through this move. Click here to see the other leaders in G2.
G2 Burnholme is for everyone, we have a wide range of people leading and serving, welcoming and washing up - its a community of people who are seeking to discover and follow more of Jesus. If you are a family see below for details about youth and children.
You will find the Centre @ Burnholme on Mossdale Avenue, YO31 0HA. It’s just off Bad Bargain Lane in Tang Hall.
There are two car parks available and disabled access.
Arrive from 3:30pm for pre-service refreshments.
Enter the building and walk through the cafe to the glass doors to find refreshments and then enter the main hall from there.
For several years G2 met in Burnholme School in Tang Hall, in 2016 we moved to the city centre while the building underwent renovations. It is now a library and community hub called the Centre @ Burnholme and although we have 'moved back' to somewhere we previously met, we also see this as a move to something new with lots of opportunities and possibilities. It’s a chance to grow as a community and reach more people.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Arrive from 3.30pm to find a cup of tea or coffee awaiting you - please bring a keep-cup if you have one as we are trying to reduce our paper/plastic usage! Our meeting starts at 3.45pm in the main hall for fun and worship – feel free at this point to join in or just listen. At about 4.10pm the children go out to their groups to explore their topic while the adults unpack the Bible and continue worshipping together.
In the hall there is a créché area for parents to use with their children and there organised children's groups from aged 2 to 11 and a program for youth. If you are a family with children, this is the service for you ... but this is definitely a service for everyone: children, youth, students, 20s, 30s and more.
from acorns to great oaks
We feel called to plant a church site into this area, we are a small group of people but with big dreams for what God can do through us.
