G2 is not a building or an organisation, it is a group of people who are united in their love for Jesus and their passion for growing the Kingdom for God, just like the church we see in Acts 2. The G2 building blocks are taken from the passage below and are the key things that we all need to do to be the church; they are how we participate rather than consume; they are how we get involved rather than observe. We would love everyone at G2 to be doing these things because we are all the church.
ACTS 2:42-47 the fellowship of the believers
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Each building block invites us to step more into the G2 church community and get involved.
Follow - Following Jesus means being a disciple of his, living like him and devoting our lives to him. He calls us to join forces with him so we can be stronger with him.
Give - We recognise that the earth is the Lord’s and everything in it (Psalm 24)! Therefore we give our money, time, skills and passions so that others may be blessed.
Tell - We are excited by the freedom we have discovered in Jesus - so much so that we can’t keep this in! We long to share this with others so that they too might experience God’s love and freedom and start living life to the full.
Join - G2 is a body, not a building; an organism, not an organisation. We are not designed to be disciples alone and there are many ways to join in and connect with others.
Worship - We are amazed by God’s radical love for us! In response, we worship God with our whole lives and surrender everything for him as well as sing praises.
