Hi guys. Many of you will be aware that last new year’s eve, my Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He underwent considerable treatment and he died on the 29th July.

Throughout this difficult and painful time, Hannah and I have so appreciated the love, support and prayers of the G2 community. I want to thank all of you for the part that you have played in helping the last 8 months be something that we are really thankful for.

Seeing Dad die was hugely painful and the experience has changed me profoundly. There are so many unanswered questions, as there are in all walks of life. However, there is such hope in knowing that Dad is now with his Father God who loves him so much more than I could ever manage. We prayed and wept with Dad as he died and released him into Jesus’ care.

The G2 community has been such a blessing and some of the particular highlights were:

- Encouraging emails and texts from lots of you.

- Freya and some of the other students giving Hannah and I a flight to Belfast.

- Being chaufeured to and from Leeds Bradford Airport by the Ainsworths, Rutters and Derbyshires.

- Enormous prayer texts from Matt and Katy Lucas.

- A group of G2 people coming to help us clear our garden on the weekend we came back from Ireland.

For those of you who knew Dad, we are planning to have a memorial service on the 17th October at St Oswald’s in Fulford.
