New Associate Minister for St Mikes

We are delighted to announce that Rev’d Matthew Porter from Sheffield has been appointed as the new Associate Minister at St Michael le Belfrey.

Matthew is 39, married to Sam and they have five boys aged from four - 14 years. Matthew is currently Vicar of St Chad’s Church in Sheffield where he has been since February 2000. He is a member of General Synod and a national clergy selector.  He is a member of the New Wine Network of churches. In 2003 he published a book “David Watson: Evangelism, Renewal, Reconciliation” - a historical and contemporary analysis of the continuing legacy of David Watson.

Matthew will start work at St Michael’s in January but will be commuting to and from Sheffield for some time until the family are able to move to York in the summer of 2009.
