Great North Swim sponsorship

Message from Susan Parker

Hello Everyone at G2,

I’m taking part in the great swim on 13th September to raise money for Church Urban Fund and I’d really appreciate your support.

Every year I look at all the information that comes out about the Great North Run, Race for Life etc and chunter that I’d do it if I could swim it…well this year I can!! For the first time ever there is the GREAT NORTH SWIM, swim a mile in Windermere in September!!  Anyway, I decided to chunter no more and put my money where my mouth is…the question is…will you?!!

I am swimming in aid of Church Urban Fund, a brilliant charity who I do a lot of work with, who support projects in some of our poorest areas which aim to raise people out of poverty.  Some of the money I raise will be sent directly to projects supporting the poorest people within the Wakefield Diocese (where I work!) so by supporting me in my swim you are supporting those in our area who are most in need!!

If you would like more information about the Church Urban Fund check out their website www.cuf.org.uk or ask me about them and the work they do.

It’s easy to sponsor me online by credit or debit card – just go to my Justgiving page:

www.justgiving.com/susansswim

Justgiving sends your donation straight to Church Urban Fund and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you’re a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Church Urban Fund.

If you don’t like donating online, or would simply rather speak to me in person I do have the good old fashioned paper sponsor forms, so grab me when you see me or contact me at soupy101@hotmail.com or 07855 617065!

Thank you.

Susan

Sponsored Run for G2 Mission Partners

From Christian Selvaratnam,

Some of you may know I’ve been doing a little bit of running recently as part of a fitness and health drive. Whilst I’m still very very much in the beginner category I am starting to see the benefits of the exercise – I even ran in a 10 kilometer race last month!

I’ve found that having a goal to work towards helps with motivation and adds focus to the challenge. So, I’ve decided to sign up for the the York “Brass Monkeys” Half-Marathon in January next year. You can read a little more about it here – http://www.yorkknavesmireharriers.co.uk/brassmonkey.htm.

I thought this might be something others would be interested in. Do you fancy the thought of running 13.1 miles through York countryside in winter weather??? It would be great if a whole crowd of us from G2 did it together … and you can invite friends as well. Read more here
