Watch this short video about Luke and Gav’s hopes and concerns about going in a cage for a week from 27th June – 4th July. More info about it at www.g2york.org/cageoffreedom

From the 27th June – 4th July Luke Smith and Gav Loftus are locking themselves in a cage, day and night, outside St Mikes.
Why on earth are they doing this? Because they believe that Jesus offers us freedom whenever we feel trapped. And they want to tell people about how good this is.
All over the world people are not free in different ways. Some people are actually in cages or slavery, others are trapped in bad relationships, and for others it may be that the choices in life seem made for them leaving them frustrated and angry. Read more here
Watch this 3 minute video of stories from the caravan. It has been a faith-building God-fueled time.
On the 23rd May 2010 the G2 community are invited to join with all the churches of York in praying for our city on our historic city walls. We will be gathering in the Minster Gardens at 5pm, then praying on the walls from 5:45-6pm.
Later that evening we will be getting back together as a community for Drench. 7:30pm in the gym. It is our night of prayer and worship and it will be the last one in the David Lloyd so join us as we stand together in a time of uncertainty.

Following the week of 24:7 prayer that we have done in the caravan, G2 is joining with churches from all over York to pray in a tent in the Minster for a week.
As part of St Michael le Belfrey, we have volunteered to cover the 24 hours 6pm Friday 21 May to Saturday 22 May 6pm. Read more here

God bless the candidates who want to be our MP in York. Be close to them and their families in the run up to, during and after the election. Help us to honour them as leaders, regardless of their political stance.
We pray for our nation at this critical time. Give courage and wisdom to those who find themselves in power after the election. Help them to use their gifts well and unselfishly.
God’s Kingdom in our nation.
There is only 1 week left before the 24:7 prayer week begins. The slots are filling up fast so make sure you book one quick at http://www.24-7prayer.com/signup/g2york
The way it works is you go to the caravan at the Derbyshire’s house (map below) just before your hour is due to start. The person who has been praying in the hour before you will pray for you briefly then leave you to it. Then you have an hour to pray for the City of York, G2, friends and family, people who are unwell, unhappy or lonely, pray for yourself, pray for your kids, pray for any missionaries you know, do any or none of the above and just be. Experience God in the moment. Before you know it, someone will arrive to take over from you and you will pray for them briefly before leaving them to it.
