We are excited to be able to announce that next year we will have Pippa Winterburn and Sam Butterfield with us at G2 as Parish Assistants. 

Sam is just finishing his degree and will be with us for a year before hopefully going on to do Teach First. His year will be based around growing his leadership gifting and will be involved with cells and clusters.

Pippa has been with us this year too and is staying with us for a second year. She is going to be mainly focusing on student work but also has a passion for families and this will be part of what she does as well.

We are really pleased that Pippa and Sam are going to be with us and we hope you are too. Do be sure to invite them round for dinner. They will take you up on your offer! They will be working for 3 days a week and are not getting paid. They will have part-time jobs to pay for their year. Let’s support them.

Past and present assistants have worked with Admin, Alpha course, Children’s Work, Youth Work, Music and Worship and Prayer.

Next year (from September 2008 to September 2009) we hope to have a “Parish Assistant” working with G2.  We are delighted to have applications from people who are different stages of life: school-leavers, graduates, those returning to work or early retirement etc.  It’s a great opportunity to be part of the wider St Mikes staff team and the G2 leadership teams and to really commit a year of your life to serving God is a very specific way.  We will find accommodation for you, if you need it, and we will offer you training with the York School for Theology as well as in house training with the staff.
