25 people from York had a rather chilly baptism outside St Mikes this Easter Sunday as part of a joint-churches open-air baptism led by the Archbishop of York, John Sentamu.
On Easter Sunday there is an opportunity to be baptised in water as part of a join event with other York churches to be held in Parliament Street in York.
The format will be similar to last year and will be lead by Rt Rev’d Dr John Sentamu who is the Archbishop of York.
Have a look at the video below for more info what happened last year.

If you are interested in being baptised then please have a word with Jim Roberts or one of the G2 organisers.
We are very pleased to be having G2’s first baptism on the 2nd December. Hannah is being baptised as a public statement of her faith. We have booked a portable baptistry, so it will be a full dunk! This will be during the service and anyone is welcome to join us for this special day.![]()
If you would like to be baptised too, that would be great and please speak to Jim, Christian or Luke about it.
After the service, at 12:30 there will be a carvery for anyone who wishes to join us. It is £5 per person. We need to know numbers so please let Luke know if you are coming.
