Peter Gibson OBE - Warden Emeritus
This weekend St Michaels church is honouring Peter Gibson OBE for his long-standing service as a Churchwarden.
Peter was first a warden of St Michaels in 1965, when the vicar was David Watson, and has served faithfully over these years. Peter is also an international expert and lecturer in stained-glass windows having served as a glasier at York Minster all of his working life. His most noted work was directing the preservation of the Rose Window after the Minster fire in 1984 - which included an appearance on Blue Peter!
This Sunday, Peter will be appointed Warden Emeritus to St Michael’s church in a special service which will be attended by a Bishop and an Archdeacon and with a special message from David Hope the former Archbishop of York.
Well done Peter.
