Getting Baptised

Getting Baptised

Baptism

Baptism marks the beginning of a journey with God which continues for the whole of our lives, the first step in response to God’s love.

Here is a prayer from the baptism service:

May God, who has received you by baptism into his Church, pour upon you the riches of his grace, that within the company of Christ’s pilgrim people you may daily be renewed by his anointing Spirit, and come to the inheritance of the saints in glory

About 3 times a year we have a 'Baptism Sunday' for baptisms and re-affirmation of baptismal faith.  If you are a follower of Jesus we would love to baptise you; if you were baptised as an infant we can offer the opportunity to reaffirm your baptismal vows. We are happy to baptise adults, youth who are supported by their parents and children of Christian families.

We also offer Confirmation for people who have been baptised.

If you'd like to be baptised, re-affirm your baptism or get confirmed please contact Christian Selvaratnam.

Getting Married

Getting Married

Marriage is an important step and one that we would love to help you with

Marriage

Marriage is an important step and one that we would love to help you with - not just the special day but also marriage preparation. Every couple that gets married at G2 does some marriage preparation with a married couple in the church.

Here are some words from the Church of England Wedding service that describe the meaning of marriage:

The Bible teaches us that marriage is a gift of God in creation and a means of his grace, a holy mystery in which man and woman become one flesh. It is God's purpose that, as husband and wife give themselves to each other in love throughout their lives, they shall be united in that love as Christ is united with his Church.
